The Great Gatsby is meh. I'd recommend something else. I would also choose the rambling magnum opus that is
East of Eden than
The Grapes of Wrath. But Dr. Seuss is good, too. A book is a book and don't let anyone tell you what you're reading is garbage or "doesn't count".
