You see hot foots a lot in old comedy routines. This comic made me wonder if the hot foot was really a prank that was used as prolifically as it seems. It seems like a really dangerous prank. The only real-life mentions of hot foots come from several baseball players so I guess the dugout gets really boring or something.
I highly doubt Wilberforce learned anything. That's not his thing.
