Hey, Daddy Keane, It's an Eye Test, Quit Shouting Out Letters

"I'm not giving up, and neither should you."
-Kate McKinnon, as Hillary Clinton
Saturday Night Live, November 12, 2016

I've kept from commenting on the election over the last week because, really, what is there to say? I mock comic strips and write stories, there's no need for me to be political. I save that stuff for Twitter, but I have also been fairly silent on there too. While I am shocked and saddened by the outcome of this election, we could also see this coming. We just didn't take heed of the warning signs. Honestly, the battering that President Obama has taken in his eight years in office should've told us that our country is done with minority presidents, at least for the near future. I sincerely hope not but just as former President George W. Bush was worried he might be the last Republican president, I think Barack Obama will be our last minority president. At least for awhile.

But we're all still here and that means something. We, to borrow a phrase, won't go into that dark night. I will continue to be an ally to all people, confronting hate with love and intolerance with tolerance. I will continue to believe that America is already great and not succumb to made up fears. I will continue to work in my school that is 60% African American and Hispanic with kids who make me smile and inspire me and are the future of my community. I will give President-elect Trump a chance--something a vast majority of people did not give to President Obama--and I will hope that he gives everyone that he berated a chance, too.

And I will continue to write and mock comic strips.

Family Circus
Oh, good, another installment of Family Circus: Origins. Today we learn why Bil wears glasses. Or at least, how he got them. I mean, sure, it's no Weapon X project but you get what you pay for.

I hate to admit, but I did chuckle at this.

Beetle Bailey
While Sarge is wasting his time trying to find Beetle, who has left Camp Swampy without permission to sleep in a field while, for some reason, holding hands with a scarecrow--why is Beetle holding hands with a scarecrow, that's a question I don't want to have to answer--the numerous experiments the army performs on the men of Camp Swampy have caused them to lose their normal arms and grow new ones out of their sides and backs.

Slylock Fox and Comics for Kids
Yes, yes, Count Weirdly came up with some weird-ass plan to make some beaver's TV change to the Chess Network and he's covering it up by eating soup with a fork but I'm more interested in the man at the top angrily lugging his now-broken chair to the curb. Now that's comedy.

Dennis the Menace
I swear that I have seen Joey's little sister somewhere before...

Close enough. Joey's going to be murdered and set on fire soon.

The Born Loser
It'll end when we're all dead in the cold, cold ground, Brutus.
