Franklin made his debut in
Peanuts on July 31, 1968. Franklin has always been one of my favorite
Peanuts characters probably because he is rarely seen and tends to be the "straight man" even more so than Charlie Brown. What people don't realize is that it took quite a lot for Franklin to become a character in the strip.
