A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum is about ten to twelve years out if it's a reference to either the stage play or the movie. The phrase derives from vaudevillians opened their stories with "A funny thing happened on the way to the theatre..."
And from the look on Veeblefester's face, it wasn't that funny.
All right, calm down. All that crap is made up--except the rain. That sadly is very real and has been very persistent this season.
Why do you even watch the news if all you're going to do is complain about it? There are so many other things out there to watch.
