Four Minutes? That's Ten Minutes In Sports Time

Pickles
I try to make sure there is ample toilet paper in the bathroom. And I try to make sure any replacement rolls are right there, easily accessible. Clearly, this is all Opal's fault.

Blondie
Did Dagwood figure this out just so he could nap and dream about food?

Wizard of Id
Is there a joke? I feel like a word balloon got erased or something.

1198: Did All That Paper Pile Up In Ten Minutes?

Before we get started on the return of Sunday Comic commentary, I need some help. I have finished and am currently editing a story about a transgender teen who becomes friends with and then enters a relationship with a cisgender teen. I want to make the story as true-to-life as I can and have looked up all I can on the Internet to get some of the trials a trans teen would have to go through. What I need now is someone, actually several someones, to read through it and give me notes on what's good, what needs to be changed, what doesn't work and what's just stupid.

If you would like to help out or know someone who would like help out, please send me an email at tauycreek [at] gmail.com or via the contact form and I can get the story and critique form sent to you. The story is 44 pages, contains some sexual situations, slight offensive language but I tried to write it for anyone 12 years old and up.

Now, onto the comics...

I guess it's too much to ask that this confusion last over the next week. Dan could walk in and be all "No, it's 'You fill up my bridges.'" and then Nelson could come in and be all "No, it's 'You kill all my bitches'" because Nelson clearly listens to too much rap.

I feel women should be insulted by this comic. Should women feel insulted by it?

And here I thought that B.C. was the unquestioned king of bad dictionary puns.

Marmaduke has just finished filming another scene for his balloon-popping fetish website.

On first thought, I believe those lumps protruding under the blankets are feet but considering none of these people are three feet tall, I'm going with erections.

Three minute shower. In one of my science classes, we were talking about ecology and saving water and the teacher gave a demonstration of a three minute shower to the class. Is that weird? He kept his clothes on.

Somehow, that makes it weirder...

Marshmallow Happy Stars

If you haven't noticed, you should head over to my other blog The Corner of 16th & Massachusetts and see the changes it has gone through. It's still a blog about history and stories from where I live so it really only appeals to a small handful of people but if you find it interesting, please check it out periodically. You can also check out our Facebook page, which I'm hoping to get it a bit more active over the next month or so. Changes will also be coming to Watch This Space in the next couple of months as well so be paying attention to that. Onto comics.
This was one of the first Calvin and Hobbes comics I remember seeing in the paper. It made me want to be really good at building snowmen which, because of where I lived when I was Calvin's age. I was terrible at building snowmen and have bitterly resented everyone else's snowmen. That has fueled my anger for years.

I would like to thank Brian Crane of Pickles of actually using a brand name cereal in his strip and getting the company who makes it right. I have seen many comics where people say Cap'N Cruch is made by Post, Cheerios is Kellogg and Frosted Mini-Wheats is made by General Mills. I know it's kind of nit-picky but if you are going to use a real cereal then get it right.

If I had money, not a lot of it but enough to live extremely comfortably on, I'd be afraid of losing it too. However, someone who makes $1.5 million a year (or more) really doesn't have to worry about that. Unless Veeblefester is backdoor admitting that he has a multi-million dollar gambling problem and/or drinking problem. I don't see Veeblefester having a drug problem. I don't know why. I just don't.

Take the Sacks of Money and Run

So is this some commentary on how our country overprices stuff and then nothing ever gets done or is this some sad joke about Sluggo's laziness?

Heathcliff and Sonia have been together all these years and she's never met his bookie? Also, they've been together all these years and it's just now getting serious. Heathcliff must have some really bad commitment problems or Sonia is just hypnotized by Heathcliff for some reason.

It's always the pretty ones who get trapped.....

'Tis true. Along with other theories. Although it doesn't actually say brain cooling is the primary reason. Half credit to Brian Crane.

And Marmaduke crushes yet another race. You're next Mongolians!!

Born Loser 02-01-09
Next week: Gladys/Lividia Smackdown on UFC 95. Will Brutus get the raise? It's all. On. The. Line. Also, Silva vs. an alligator. UFC!!!!

$10 To Stop Unwanted Telemarketing Calls

So most of you think Veeblefester is either a bank president or lobbyist for the tobacco industry. I'd go with either lobbyist or communications company president because cable companies rob people blind.

Also, this is my last entry for a while. I'll still be around doing the Daily Comics Review every Saturday and the 20th will be here before you know it. But on to the comics.

Fade to black. Close curtain. The end.

No matter how much you hate Obama or how much you hate McCain, we are in for an amazing race.

Oh, Cathy. Always "Ack"ing your way through life. Why is life so difficult for you? It doesn't have to be. A bowl of Healthy Choice, a little bit of sugar, milk, eat. It's not that hard, Cathy. It's not that hard.

Old person bodily functions are funny.

So many puns. Blacking out...Head imploding...Skin--spontaneously combusting.......

Ah, telemarketing. I worked for a company for about two days before I was fired that was technically a telemarketing type of job. It was horrible. Someday I'll tell you about it.

See you on the 20th.

But You Weren't There To Listen For the Last Three Days

Ha ha ha ha. Hind leg. Hee hee hee. Sorry, inside joke.

What saddens me is that National Strawberry Sundae Day really exists. And it's a homeless vagrant running around singing "Yankee Doodle" if this bum is anything like the bums I know, he's insane and constantly runs around singing various songs whether they fit or not.

Why Does Brutus Keep Setting Himself Up?

Wow! That's a lot of action for a newspaper comic strip. Wait...is Seth a guy? Is that man bisexual? If so, I need to pay attention to this strip more.

Sometimes this is the most awesome grandpa ever. I could go for some ice cream now.

So Alley Oop was the original Coppertone ad? And five bucks says Dinny is still playing.

Oh, look. Another recycled joke about Brutus' stupidity. Please wait while I hold my aching sides.
