I, Personally, Love Money

August 5, 1966
I feel of the three men mentioned here, only La Guardia now deserves a mention. Napoleon wasn't all that great and isn't Nero the guy that just sat around while Rome burned? La Guardia was also the only one actually short and rotund. He was estimated to be about Five foot even or five two. Both Napoleon and Nero were considered average height for their times.

None of these purported important men wore a shirt like that though. That might hold you back a little.

Look, I am all for the important things like friends and family. But never discount the importance of money. Money helps keep a roof over your head and put food in your belly. I wish we didn't have to rely on money, but we do.

It's weird Brutus is bringing this up. First, saying there's more important things than money and then bringing up an example that's only doable because of money. Second, just the phrasing. "There's more important things than money...like a BRAND NEW CAR!" It's just weird.

And if the Thornapples were going to Disney World, we'd have a strip of them leaving and a strip of them coming home with no Disney adventures in between.

Height Hate

September 16, 1965
I listened to three Schubert sonatas and symphonies and don't understand this. Is it because as it seems to fade out, it kicks back up to an ecstatic flourish? Maybe this comic, about a composer who died in 1828, landed better with 1965 audiences.

Jimmy Buffett died back in September! It took Chip almost eight months to do a tribute?! Might as well do nothing at this point.

I don't know why Brutus is telling Veeblefester that he's leaving. Just leave. He doesn't need to know.

Is that hair even a centimeter? Are you five nine and eleven centimeters and that little hair puts you into five-ten category? Whatever. You won't be worrying about your height when that blood work comes back.

Dizzy Up the Girl

These seems like pretty serious problems. Your parents should probably take you a doctor and get your, I'm just going to assume it's vertigo, checked out. It's probably just an inner ear thing but I'd want to look at their brains--poke around in there just to be safe.

The Tubby-Short Correlation

Where's Wilberforce? Shouldn't he be out here keeping Hattie away from Brutus? Brutus should've made a New Year's resolution to keep his distance from Hattie. Or run her over with a car. Whichever actually keeps her from getting into his house.

The Born Loser 6

I had a friend who had a playhouse in his backyard. I was afraid to climb the ladder to get inside it. I was really afraid of heights as a child but as a teenager, I attempted to force myself out of my comfort zone and not be scared anymore. It worked so now heights don't really scare me anymore.

Maybe Hattie could get Wilberforce to climb the apple tree and then push him out. Maybe not dying would help him conquer his fear.

1260: Short and Stubby

There have been a couple changes to the top of the website: First, is a Title page that will list all of the WTS sections through the years along with how long they ran and a description. It is still being updating but in the meantime, the sidebar list will still be available. I have also added a Recommendations page that list some of my favorite websites and blogs. It is constantly going to be added to and I will happily take suggestions if you know a site that can be added. You can contact me or tweet at me the link.

Mm, no. No, I don't like this strip. I don't like it when short people talk about being short nor do I like the "joke". "Hand-me-ups"? Ugh, sometimes this strip is just irresponsible.
