Here’s How Much It Costs To Block A Bill That 91% Of Americans Support

There’s nothing a little (or huge) campaign donation can’t make you forget about, right? Even that pesky thing called American safety.

Pfft. What pisses me off is how cheap my senators were. Pat Roberts was $30,800 and Jerry Moran a measly $16,221. But at least they’re no Tim Scott from South Carolina. $2,000, really?

Clean energy = winning.

Hmm. Last I knew, Kansas had a decent amount of sun and wind plus a lot of open space to put in turbines. Too bad we all know who controls Kansas, the two people at the bottom who use money to get their way.

Reblog if you live in Kansas and you’re voting Democrat.

alix-sedai:

I’m sick of having my state be written off as full of crazy conservatives. There are a lot of them, true, but there are a lot of US too. Reblog if you’re like me and just waiting for the crazies to…not be here anymore.

On the left is the school efficiency questionnaire Governor Brownback implemented back in September. One question with a maximum of 1,000 characters. Plenty of room to detail what is going on with your school, right?
In response, Kansas Democrats created their own school efficiency questionnaire with  three questions and no character limit. It’s the one on the right.
Now tell me who do you think cares more about our children and our schools?
If you don’t believe me, you can go here for the governor’s questionnaire and here for the Democrat’s.

  • Republicans win debate: YEEEAAHH!! Our guy is amazing! He kicked your guys ass!!!!!1!!!
  • Democrats win debate: I am so glad my person won. He was clear and concise on all issues and never gave in to attacks.
  • Republicans lose debate: Your guy was too arrogant! He's a bully and should be called out for being a bully! The moderator is a liberal fascist. We want a rematch! Your guy should be embarrassed!!

I took a little stroll around Mittens’ facebook page tonight. Mostly for laughs. Found them. This is hysterical.
Oh, Willard.

As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, we are not enemies but friends. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection.
And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote tonight, but I hear your voices. I need your help. And I will be your president, too.

But the point remains that Obamacare is what’s on the table.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn’s (R-TN) response to CNN’s Brooke Baldwin’s question of “With all due respect, Congresswoman, we’re talking about Mitt Romney. We’re talking about a Mitt Romney spokesperson and specifically asking you to react to her comment. We played the sound bite where she is basically saying had this man gone to Massachusetts where he would have had health care, perhaps this would have prevented his wife’s death. This has nothing to do with Obamacare.”

If you are a politician and you do this then you lose my vote. When someone asks you “How do you feel about so-so in regards to their comments about Mr. Romney?” don’t respond with “Obama’s the problem” it makes you and your entire party look like idiots.

Do the Mainstream Media Have a Conservative Bias?

The data behind this chart only runs from May to July, but interesting to see a snapshot.

FJP: Despite cries to the contrary, it’s been like this for quite some time. What discourages me more though is the establishment “need” to have spokespeople from each side of the aisle who regurgitate the day’s talking points instead of, say, the best people to actually dissect and analyze what policies and events actually mean. — Michael

I need to show this to my mother, who is convinced there is a huge liberal bias in media. I seriously want to stab myself in the eyes every time she starts ranting about it.

This was a comment on a Huffington Post article about how the Supreme Court is unpopular. Someone commented that Sandra Day O’Conner handed the 2000 election to George W. Bush thus creating the current dissent and this person responded with the obvious “fact” that a President Gore would’ve been horrible to the country.
The guy offers no facts on how he knows this, he just assumes. I was going to comment back to him but I didn’t want to create an account so I’m just going to do it here.
Do you honestly believe the country would’ve been worse under Al Gore? Do you honestly think Gore would’ve ignored the Bin Laden briefing like Bush did that led to 9/11? Do you think that so many people would’ve been displaced by Hurricane Katrina? What about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq? What about the financial and housing crisis that was only caused because Republicans had complete control from 2001-2006? Would Joe Lieberman have shot someone in the face and then had the man he shot apologize to him? Would President Gore have taken over 1,000 days of vacation when he’s only in office for about 2,900?
In what backwards reality do you thank God that 3,000 people die in a terrorist attack and that tens of thousands more die defending the people that died in those terrorist attack? Why are you thanking God for a recession that has left millions of people unemployed and/or near destitute? Why are you thanking God for destroying numerous coast cities that have yet to return to they way they once were? Why are you thanking God for the ways things turned out? Why are you thanking God for hurting people?

From John Cole: The Next 48 Hours Summarized For You In One Short Post

  • R- Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.
  • D- Yes, but guns make it very easy to kill people in large quantities. He would not have been able to stab 71 people.
  • R- Stop trying to politicize this tragedy! What we need are not fewer guns, but more guns. If only someone else in that theatre had had a gun, they would have been able to stop him in his tracks.
  • D- Yes. Nothing could go wrong with crossfire in a dark theatre. This is absurd. There is a clear lesson here, and we need to do something about the ease with which people get firearms.
  • R- There’s no lesson to be learned, the guy was crazy. You can’t stop every crazy person.
  • D- We could try to make it harder for crazy people to walk around with a shotgun, a rifle, two handguns, and gas cannisters.
  • R- I knew Obama and you liberals were coming for our guns. Second Amendment!
  • John: And after 48 hours, the topic will die down as me move on to the next scandal/tragedy du jour, and then we can have this same exact conversation again the next time someone murders a dozen people with a gun.
