Brutus Must've Told It Wrong

It's a new day. I'm taking more time to search for comics good and bad and let's face it, with the crappy economy, presidential campaigning and Sarah Palin overtaking most of the media, we all need some fun. One place where the effects of the real world never penetrate is the tiny town of Riverdale.

However, he is also your new social studies teacher because they are usually the same person.

I fail to see how this qualifies as menacing. I guess we could always hold out hope that Grampa has a Korean and/or Vietnam War flashback and beats the bejeezus out of the mailman.

Why would you not clean off the old refrigerator? Now those deliverymen know that Chip gets Cs, Trixie's obsessed with sitting next to a window and that the Flagston family has a strange prediliction with the comic strip Pluggers.

Because, Jeffy, if we let PJ roam free in the backyard "Dateline NBC" will be on the Keane Kompound like white on rice.

The person running away is only half the size of the robot. Only half the size. Just half it's size...

Let's all waste time telling bad jokes at work. What fun. And let's tell one to the CEO. I'm sure there will be no consequences.

Quick Quiz: What's older? The joke Brutus told or the joke of today's strip?

And We're Back

It is now nine days since I said I'd be back but I'm here now after some very hectic Internet issues but you don't want to hear about my problems, you want The Born Loser.

Gladys, No! The doctor said if you had one more piece of cake, he'd have to take your foot.

I haven't looked at a Born Loser in over a month so I missed out on when we got color added to the daily strips and I'm too lazy to check past strips. However, I see the detail in coloring is extraordinary. Daily Comic Strips In Color: Keeping Harvard Grads Employed Since 2003.

I'm not a fan of yellow cake but that cake does look pretty good. I also think that no matter how out of shape you are, your body could never look like that. I mean, her chest just turns into her abdomen. Is Chip just trying to show how out of shape Gladys is or does he just not know how to draw an overweight woman with actual woman features?

Answer: Probably a little of both.

On Hiatus...

My vacation/sabbatical begins in just a few seconds so I want to thank you all for reading and I will see you September 20th. The reason for the break is mainly to focus on my other writing and I am feeling just slightly burnt out on comics but there are other comic sites you can read everyday and I will still be doing the Daily Comics Review every Saturday so I'm not going far.

I am going to try and start a webcomic when I come back so if you or anyone you know would like to contribute to the art, please contact me and send me a small sample. I am terrible at art so I want someone good to do it for me. Unfortunately, it's unpaid work but it's a good stepping stone into the world of webcomics I imagine. I plan on the comic to be every Wednesday on basically a full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11" paper but not in color. So if interested, contact me with samples and I will send you rough drawings of the characters and you can return them to me and I will pick the best and hopefully get the thing going October 1st.

Also, one last note about the Heartwalk on September 13th. It's a three-mile walk in Topeka, Kansas and donations are still being accepted on my website. All donations go to the American Heart Association.

Thanks for donating and thanks for reading. Be back soon.
